Politics as UsUal
SIGH. A fellow blogger and an all around beautiful human being asked me had I heard of LaShawn Barber and did I read her stuff. I said naw never heard of her. What’s her spiel? “Well she’s a Conservative Christian with a bit of clout and her blog is interesting even though it’s hard to agree with much of what she has to say”
“Do you express yourself in her comments section?”
“Naw I’ve just been a lurker for a few weeks. But she does let you comment as long as you aren’t attacking “her” “
“I’ll check it out.” And I did. It was an interesting read. Apparently Ms. Barber was an aide to some Democratic screw up on Capitol Hill. She sobered up (literally and figuratively) and found religion and saw the “light” (not necessarily in that order) and began heavily investing her time and energies in the Conservative Christian agenda. She’s an attractive young lady (in a Claire Huxtable kinda way) and seems to be fairly intelligent with a penchant and a passion for writing. In short she’s someone I could like. However the very first thing that I read at her site was a piece on Micheal Graham calling the entire religion of Islam a 'Terrorist Organization” and how she 100% supports him and this idea. SIGH again.
I don’t understand how RELIGION which almost all are based on the teachings of men who preached tolerance could be so INtolerant to any and everything that is not of them. I really think Christians should work at remembering that it was INtolerance, political and religous pressure and propaganda that got Jesus crucified in the first place, but I digress.
Mak never one to just lurk and sit idly by addressed the throng of commenters (there were at least 50 of them) who were doing their best Christian choir imitations and Amening so hard that it was a bit scary at times.
This is what I wrote:
